Valarie E. Howard has provided leadership to the only African American child placement agency in the state of Oklahoma for twenty-one (21) years. Prior to her tenure with One Church, One Child she was a Senior Probation & Parole Office with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections from February 1983 until retiring in March 2003.
In 1998, Ms. Howard served on the advisory council of the original Oklahoma County Drug Court
program under the leadership of the late Judge Charles Hill, and she is currently a trainer for the National Drug Court Institute. Ms. Howard has been trainer with the University of Oklahoma National Resource Center for Youth Services since 1995. Her professional training experience with NRC includes.
training on the Resource Family Training contract and recently has joined the Enhanced Foster Care training team. Ms. Howard has one (1) son, a daughter-in-love, one granddaughter, two grandsons and one godson.
